Capture, wrap up, review, and submit a subject visit to EDC — workflow visits and Unscheduled Visits after they are saved
URL
/visits/[subjectVisitId]— capture or review one subject visit (subjectVisitIdis the visit record id)
New Unscheduled Visits start at /subjects/[subjectId]/walk-in and continue here after the first save.
Purpose
This page runs visit capture for one subject visit at the selected organization study site. Complete forms (or Unscheduled Visit fields), wrap up stipend and Note to File, review answers, and Submit to EDC. Completed visits open read-only on Review.
What you can do
- Confirm ICF start checks when required before capture unlocks
- Confirm early conduct when activating a scheduled visit before its scheduled date
- Work through visit forms in order (workflow visits) or Data collection fields (Unscheduled Visits)
- Save draft answers on form or Data collection steps without submitting to EDC
- Continue to validate the current step and move forward
- Complete Wrap Up (optional stipend and Note to File), then Review
- Submit to EDC from Review when every step is validated and Wrap Up is continued
- Cancel Unscheduled Visit on an active Unscheduled Visit that has not been submitted
- Reopen a completed visit read-only to review submitted values
Permissions
Page access — Requires a signed-in user with access to Site Portal for the organization (license), a selected site, and Conduct Subject Visits. The subject must be active for capture. Capture is blocked when another visit for the same subject is already active, or when incomplete blocking ePRO activities are due.

Without Conduct Subject Visits, the page shows an unauthorized error and write actions stay blocked.

ICF start confirmation
A modal may appear before capture unlocks. Confirm consent, prescribed medications, and demographics. Cancel leaves without starting or continuing capture for this visit.
Early conduct confirmation
When opening a scheduled visit before its scheduled date, a dialog explains that the schedule date will update to now. Continue begins the visit; Cancel returns to subjects.
Header
Shows the visit title (workflow visit title or Unscheduled Visit) and Subject ID. In capture mode on a form or Data collection step, Save persists drafts. Active Unscheduled Visits also offer Cancel Unscheduled Visit.
Steps
A step rail lists each form (or Data collection), then Wrap Up and Review. Sidebar on large screens; horizontal steps on smaller screens. Later steps stay locked until earlier ones are validated.
Capture content
On form steps, enter values for that visit form. On Unscheduled Visit Data collection, search and add study fields, then enter values. Wrap Up captures optional stipend and Note to File (site-only; not submitted to EDC). Review shows captured values before submit; completed visits show submitted data read-only.
Footer
Shows the current step count with Back and Continue, or Submit to EDC on Review. On Wrap Up, Continue saves wrap-up details to the visit.
