Unscheduled Visit
Start a new Unscheduled Visit for a subject — confirm ICF gates, choose study fields, enter values, then save or continue into capture

/subjects/[subjectId]/walk-in— New Unscheduled Visit entry for a subject (subjectIdis the subject record id)
After the first successful Save or Continue with at least one field, capture continues at /visits/[subjectVisitId].
Purpose
This page opens a new Unscheduled Visit for ad hoc EDC capture outside the published visit schedule. Confirm informed-consent start checks, search and add study fields, enter values, then save a draft or continue. Leaving before the first save creates nothing.
What you can do
- Confirm ICF start checks (consent, prescribed medications, demographics) before capture unlocks
- Search study fields and add them to this Unscheduled Visit (file fields are not available)
- Enter values for selected fields and remove fields you no longer need
- Save a draft (creates the visit and opens the persisted capture page)
- Continue after validating selected fields (same first persist, then opens the visit page)
- Back from the first step to return to subject details without creating a visit
- See the step list for Data collection, Wrap Up, and Review (Wrap Up, Review, and Submit to EDC complete on the visit page after first persist)
Permissions
Page access — Requires a signed-in user with access to Site Portal for the organization (license), a selected site, and Conduct Subject Visits. The subject must be active. Capture is blocked when another visit for the same subject is already active, or when incomplete blocking ePRO activities are due.

ICF start confirmation
A modal gate appears before capture unlocks. Confirm that the subject completed the most recent consent form, that prescribed medications are up to date (with a link to the subject’s medication surface), and that demographics are accurate. Cancel returns to subject details without creating a visit.
Header
Title New Unscheduled Visit with the subject’s Subject ID. Save appears on the Data collection step and persists the first draft when at least one field is selected.
Steps
A step rail (sidebar on large screens; horizontal steps on smaller screens) lists Data collection, Wrap Up, and Review. On this entry URL you work in Data collection; after first persist, Wrap Up and Review continue on the visit page.
Data collection
Search and add study fields, then enter values for each selected field. An empty state explains that at least one field is required before continuing. Selected fields can be removed until you leave this entry step via Save or Continue.
Footer
Shows the current step (for example, Step 1 of 3) with Back and Continue. On the first step, Back returns to subject details. Continue validates fields, creates the visit when needed, and opens the persisted visit page.
