Purpose
This is the home page for Clinical Study Manager. It lists every research study on the organization’s active CSM license so you can find one by name, open it for setup or operations, create a new draft study, or delete a draft that is no longer needed.
What you can do
- Browse all research studies for the active license in a card grid
- Search studies by study name
- Create a new draft research study (opens the study setup route)
- Open a draft study to continue setup (
/research-studies/[id]) - Open an active study’s study dashboard (
/study/[id]) - Delete a draft study from the card options menu
Permissions
Page access — Requires a signed-in user with access to Clinical Study Manager for the organization (license). Listing studies is not gated by a study permission.

Create a Study | Allows creating a new draft research study from this page. |
Update Study data | Allows deleting a draft study from the card options menu. |
Without Create a Study, Create Research Study stays disabled and shows an insufficient-permissions tooltip.
Delete is allowed only while the study status is draft. Active studies show Delete Study disabled with a tooltip that active studies cannot be deleted. The server also requires Update Study data for the delete itself.

Header
Title Research Studies with a short description. The header includes the study name search field and the Create Research Study button.
Search
Filters the grid by study name (case-insensitive). If nothing matches, the empty state asks you to adjust the search.
Study card grid
A two-column scrollable grid of study cards. Each card shows:
- Study name (or Untitled Study when unset)
- Status badge: Active or Draft
- Protocol number and version when present
- Sponsor, study type, phase
- Protocol approval date and GTED
- IRB and indication
Clicking a card navigates by status:
- Draft →
/research-studies/[id](study setup) - Active →
/study/[id](study dashboard)
If there are no studies and no search filter, the empty state prompts you to create the first research study.
Card options menu
Each card has a Study options menu. Today it contains Delete Study, which removes a draft study and its related setup data. Active studies cannot be deleted from this menu.
